When the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (better known as the Farm Bill) became law in December of that year, industrial hemp was removed from the list of controlled substances.
On Thursday, President-elect Joe Biden nominated Representative Deb Haaland to serve as Secretary of the Interior. She will be the first Native American to serve in that role. Haaland will be a part of the Climate-Energy team, a group dedicated to environmental justice, climate protections, and community health.
The House passed a bill to decriminalize marijuana at the federal level and set up a process to expunge previous convictions. Doubtful the Senate will even consider it since we have a Neanderthal in charge in the Senate who also thinks we don't need Universal Healthcare and or Universal Basic Wages during a Pandemic of epic proportions.
